BASIC OUTDOOR SKILLS/INTRODUCTION TO BACKPACKING (BOS/ITB)

Enjoy the outdoors? Want to develop greater confidence and comfort in wilderness settings? Two days -one night on the Appalachian Trail, all food and needed gear is provided. This basic school is for you! Water, Shelter, Fire, Signaling, Food, Navigation, Emergencies, First Aid…  it is all here in this unforgettable program.

INTRODUCTION TO OUTDOOR SURVIVAL (IOS)

This course was designed and developed by us at the request the Discovery Channel.
Focusing on the basic points of four-season survival, the course begins with the construction of a personal survival kit and the importance of situational awareness and progresses through the skill sets of basic navigation, water acquisition, signaling, primitive fire building methods and shelter construction.

THIS IS A FIELD COURSE. Students should dress and prepare for outdoor, mountainside conditions.


LEAVE NO TRACE AWARENESS. (LNTA)

This one-day course covers the basics of Leave No Trace ethics and skills. Designed for anyone who goes into the outdoors for recreation and enjoyment. (Group scheduling by request/advance reservation, contact the Teamlink / SMG office)
